Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
Cindy Pickett has two core beliefs that shape her approach to education. First, she believes that as a community, we need to invest in education. That means investing in our teachers as well as school facilities. Measure M will be on the November ballot in Davis. If passed, Measure M will bring much needed funds to the school district to allow us to upgrade our aging school facilities. Teachers, students, and facilities are at the heart of our educational system and we need to continue to make investments in all three. Second, we should never lose sight of the fact that students are human beings. A child who is being bullied and comes to school in fear can’t learn. As a school board trustee, Pickett would make sure to keep the focus on the students – both their educational needs and their social and emotional well-being.
