Summary

Candidate's Statement

We are grappling with the biggest education challenge of our era. Although the Covid-19 Pandemic has halted in-person teaching, thanks to our phenomenal teachers, staff, administration and Measure D improvements we transitioned to online learning within weeks. Our classified staff kept meals going out to Socially Economically Deprived students. Our site leaders assisted by IST staff provided devices and Wi-Fi Hotspots to all students and families who needed them. Our school site staffs continue to work on keeping students connected to their schools and emotionally well.

Next we must work toward the safe return of students and staff to in person teaching relying on science and professional expertise to guide us. We must use the lessons learned over the past months to inform our return to “normal.”

I ask for your vote so that I can participate in the important work that remains before us.

Below is information about my experience in our school district and community to assist you in deciding if I should continue as your SLCUSD Trustee.
