My Top 3 Priorities

  • PENSION REFORM: According to the Stanford economists, the unfunded pension liability for combined CalPERS, CalSTRS, and University of California pension funds stands at a staggering $1 trillion. We need pension reform now, and greater transparency.
  • CREDIT RATING: At AA- (S&P), California's credit rating ranks in the bottom 20% of states, impacted by financial mismanagement by Sacramento politicians. Unfavorable rating means greater interest and transaction costs. This is unacceptable.
  • FISCAL DISCIPLINE: As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and finance/ economics/ treasury professional with 20+ years of experience, I want to bring greater discipline and controls to the state's management of financial affairs.
